This coffee is great. The beans aren’t as shiny as I’d hoped , but the flavor is still there. Mild, not at all bitter, with a slight spice to it. Very fragrant. This is a good bean to get if any.
First off, it is great to buy coffee via computer generated money. Go BitCoin! Secondly, the service from Ed has been spot on, including a follow up recommending me which coffee to test next.
I’m typically a dark roast drinker. This coffee is definitely a medium to light roast, which although it is not my usual cup, I still enjoy and it was a nice change of pace. Bitbrew doesn’t seem to include the intensity of the roast in the description, which might be a useful tidbit for people who are really picky. I didn’t know what kind of roast it was going to be, but I’m always open to trying new coffee, so it didn’t bother me too much.
On to the review. The coffee took a little while to ship, but it wasn’t horrible. I think because of this the coffee might not have been as fresh as it could have been, especially because the packaging was not totally sealed and airtight. Despite those potential disasters I really enjoyed this coffee. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it at first, but with every cup I seemed to enjoy it more. It has a very distinct taste. Lighter roast coffees are usually more acidic, which holds true here, but it was never overwhelming or unpleasantly so. This coffee, to me, had an almost fruity flavor and it’s absolutely never bitter.
This was worth the wait. A very earthy flavor. I loved it, as did my sister-in-law who is more of a connoisseur. Will definitely order again.
